Today is the day! I'm honoured to share my new album with you all, which is now available digitally. My adventure into the world of raved up ambient pop, with vocals performed by the wonderful Yassie G. Vinyl version coming early next year, for the heads.
congrats! looking fwd to hearing.

same thing happened to me this year. a great feeling to still have that 21 year old studio passion/energy, even if the rest of my body doesn't quite feel that young any more hah
New interview with @ambientdroner.bsky.social and myself for Headphone Commute, focused on the Stasis Sounds series. We talk about inspirations, production processes, how the series concept came about, and much more.

Give it a read at headphonecommute.com/2025/07/25/i...
Not sure there is one, if I'm being honest. I prefer forums, but they're all dying/dead now.
Oh and to confirm, this is a UK big brother thing, not the fault of Bluesky. Our government is trying to follow the CCP's lead into privacy hell. Again, I've been on the net since the 90s. I've seen liberties slowly erode, with mass consolidation of where people communicate. It's sad to see it.
First Bandcamp asks for personal details/id for payments, and now Bluesky is going to be asking for personal id/payment details just to view "adult" tweets. Whole internet is a mess. Oh how I miss the 90s/00s. it was so much more fun.

Anyway, doubt I'll use this account much longer.
The new 36 LP is finished. It started life as a record I made to sleep to, then, after about 5 revisions, it morphed into an ultra-expansive, melodic, cyberpunk-inspired arpeggio brain melter. It happens, sometimes.

Gonna dedicate next week to mixing it down, then it's a wrap.
After 10,000,000 years. Ableton Live FINALLY has a Bounce to New Track function. I repeat, Ableton Live FINALLY has a Bounce to New Track function.

I'm not worried about AI making tunes that sound like me. AI can only ever copy surface-level aesthetics. My life, experiences, and personality are what define my "sound". Music is a reflection of the artist, uniquely transposed to the listener. Cloning specific sounds won't make another me. Or you.
A few listeners of mine have showed me pictures of their 36 logo tattoo's, which I am of course honoured to see. However, please exercise caution if they're openly visible while on US soil, to avoid possible detainment and extraordinary rendition.
Happy 50th birthday, old friend.
Your outie enjoys the sound of sustained chords, with subtle timbrel variations, and generous amounts of reverb.
Fun fact: Source Direct sampled this, and it's how I originally discovered it in the late 90's.
1994 was THE year for ambient music, but loads of great tunes were hidden in the shadows of more prolific albums like SAWII, Lifeforms etc... Case in point is this gorgeous track:

AI/ML programmers just need to adapt to the new reality, and learn new skills. If a machine can do their job faster and cheaper, then the market is just re-balancing itself. No point crying about it. Just learn a new trade, bro.

Only just read the very sad news that Lee Purkis AKA In Sync died in 2023, made especially tragic by the circumstances of his death. A UK legend. Storm is his most well known tune, but he made loads of great trax, inc a killer 12" under his WBE alias. RIP.
