And really doesn't like being touched because of that (somehow Daisuke gets away with it 🤦🏻‍♀️). I think the death of his first partner is what really unlocked his ruthless streak, though, because after the initial heartbreak left, our man was all-in on revenge plans 😅

So I think that's led to him starting with the assumption that every person he meets lies to his face.

He became even more reserved and jaded after he was SA'd by his uncle, and his dad both didn't believe him and treated him like the family's worst shame after. He battles insecurities daily 🧵

Unless he's certain he's talking to someone who won't judge him for it or misinterpret his delivery.

His background in the nobility (and being able to go around mostly unnoticed) gave him plenty of insight into the darker side of people's intentions, even within his own family🧵

Obito's always had strained relationships with his family because of social status things that are too long for a post　, and because he's always been accused of being too blunt. He's been in trouble and punished for it more times than he can count, which is why he rarely says what he's thinking 🧵

He also uses his natural intelligence as a weapon so no one can look down on him for being an "uneducated slaveborn" or whatever else they might say. It's also why his handwriting is so neat—like hell anyone's going to use that against him, either 😤🧵

This led to his abrasiveness and independence, but curiosity and mischief have always been core parts of his personality. Socially, he's used to oppression, and figures nothing will change if no one stands up to it, which is why he makes sure no one can silence him without a fight 🧵

Daisuke was raised as a slave and grew up with a physically and emotionally abusive dad, along with an emotionally absent and drug-addicted mom, which basically left him to fend for himself while taking care of his little brother. 🧵

Kanashimi had made a similar proclamation upon their first meeting, and their bond had flourished naturally since, so the Priestess of Shadows did not pursue or call out to the demon as he disappeared into his talisman in a burst of flame and smoke. I like to think Daisuke and Obito grow a lot. They become better fighters, schemers, and learn how to use the love and empathy they have for each other to make things better for other people, too 🥰
