It’s 10:30 AM on a Sunday and I’ve already been to the hardware store twice for the same project.

How’s your Sunday going?

After Congress refused to protect NCAR, NSF issued a letter asking for proposals to “restructure” the #Boulder-based climate and weather science hub, including privatization. The move would undermine a global pillar of weather forecasting and climate research. boulderreportinglab.org/2026/01/23/n...

We hear that protection of NCAR from breakup is in peril in the CJS bill - be sure to contact your representatives to ensure that they hear your support!

James Cook has done it: He’s the first Bills player to lead the NFL in rushing yards since O.J. Simpson in 1976.

Maybe someday I will have time to go back and edit more of my cloud photos.

Here is an image of a towering cumulus cloud ascending over some stratiform boundary layer clouds near El Durazno, Córdoba, Argentina. This was during the first site survey for the RELAMPAGO field campaign, April 2015.

Congratulations Champaign, the coldest station I could find in Illinois at -12F! (A nearby site is -10F, so it’s likely not a station issue)

NSF

- Forced reorg

- POs down ~ 40% (DRP, most rotators not renewed, retirements)

- Forced move (and we have to pack and clean) to a building with no furniture, little to no conference space for panels, inadequate 🛜, …)

I personally love the boxes they gave us for packing.

I can’t see how to access them one by one - seriously messed up.
