yesterday's tariff announcement led directly to one of the worst days in the history of the #cryptocurrency markets even though the price of major crypto tokens fell less than 10-20%, pretty much back to where prices were two weeks ago.
this is how the crypto exchanges *really* make money - they force big market moves and then liquidate all their customers who are gambling - sorry i mean "trading" - with absurd amounts of leverage that range up to 250x.
over on the everything app the loss porn is amazing. thousands of #memecoin traders lost their entire life's savings in one 5 minute flash crash.

Bystander filming asks man for his name. ICE agent lies and says he’s not allowed to speak to him “by law” and another says “We’ve arrested American citizens for being too close…If he gets any closer, put him in cuffs.”
