I'm now going down a rabbit hole on this, and – notwithstanding the reliability of “time and date dot com” as a source – it’s fascinating to consider that the discrepancy might have its roots in the origins of the 2-day weekend www.timeanddate.com/calendar/day...
What Is the First Day of the Week?
Is Monday the first day of the week, or is it Sunday? Did you know that half the world's population starts Sundays, and some even start on Saturdays?

I was accidentally raised to view the week this way because my parents always bought the Ansel Adams calendar
being reminded americans start the week, on sunday, halfway through the weekend

It’s a reasonable reaction but I think these facts are perfectly reconcilable if you accept that he is, despite his visual talent, a huge idiot

It’s really two games in one: drafting strategically and solving puzzles. You get better at the first thing naturally over time; the second is a matter of writing stuff down when you notice it so that you can refer to it later when you happen upon the thing it relates to

Been thinking about this for a week and have decided: Alex Garland is our dumbest smart guy, Danny Boyle is our smartest dumb guy, and that’s why their synergy is beautiful
loved the BONE TEMPLE but was kept up all night pondering if alex garland is our smartest dumb guy or our dumbest smart guy

Christ. Until this exact moment I was mentally pronouncing it like the “ph” was an “f” and the word rhymed with “Slazenger”, regarding it as one of those delightful old-timey American words that evokes a Manhattan full of horses and pork pie hats
The term “straphanger” refers to a person who uses public transportation, particularly subways, and holds onto a hanging strap for support while standing during their ride. This term originated from the early days of subway systems when #NYC trains actually had hanging straps for passengers to grip.
