cool that obama could call up the entire democratic party to organize a resistance movement to stop sanders but couldn't call up the senate to tell them not to windmill slamdunk one of his few legacies of improving anything into the trash.

Zohran’s win offers the Bay Area a glimpse at a better future — one where we’re not locked in a room with Gavin Newsom for another four years.

RIP Joseph Byrd. In addition to the great United States of America album, my personal favorite work of his was the severely misunderstood and underappreciated avant-garde arrangement for Phil Ochs' masterwork The Crucifixion

RIP, Joe Byrd, mastermind behind two mind-bending classics: The United States Of America (1968) + Joe Byrd And The Field Hippies' The American Metaphysical Circus (1969). Get 'em both in all formats. He was true one-off, loved by Broadcast, Portishead, & many others.

Somehow I don't think I've ever seen Roger Ebert's 1968 review of Night of the Living Dead before. Incredible to think of a bunch of children a expecting a goofy b-movie and instead being exposed to real modern horror
The Night of the Living Dead movie review (1969) | Roger Ebert
NOTE (2004): This reaction to a screening of "Night of the Living Dead" is not, properly speaking, a review -- or rather, it is a review of the audience

I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering

If you’re a coffee person worried about tarriffs I highly, highly recommend getting into home roasting. For a fairly small investment of like $250 you can buy a small air roaster and then bulk green coffee costs like 25% of comparable roasted fancy coffee.

It is really annoying that the AI hype is so fucking stupid because honestly the technologies are really impressive and amazing even if they don’t actually do all that much useful stuff. Been playing around with Sora and it is actually incredible what it can produce.
