Hopefully this council focuses on fixing the lack of safe options in the west end. No more MUPs without intersection treatments, especially in busy pedestrian or cycling areas!

We need to make sure we remind elected and non-elected officials every time we see them! 100% of the anti-bike, anti-infill, anti-transit crowd showed up, and they lost badly.

Edmonton wants choice, and those chocies need to be safe, accessible, always-available, and connected.

Friends, neighbours, Ward Métis - we did it.

I am so thankful to the voters of Ward Métis who have supported our vision of an Edmonton where everyday people can build extraordinary lives.

I am excited to get back to work for the residents of Ward Métis and all Edmontonians. #yeg #WardMétis #yegcc
Just because entrenched interests masquerading as journalism tried to pretend there was a city-wide demand for change doesn't mean that's what the majority wants.

Yet no one can figure out why downtowns everywhere are struggling.
US downtowns are covered with car parking.

According to this new study, off-street parking takes up:
🔹 20.5% of downtown Dallas
🔹 22.3% of downtown Los Angeles
🔹 31.7% of downtown Tulsa
I hope you're wrong. Every single person who is upset about zoning or bike lanes or lrt voted. They lost almost everywhere, so we need to be reiterating to council that Edmontonians want more infill, better transit, and year round high quality bike lanes.
No matter how good the rest of 103 ave is, this is a point of failure and it's outside of Marigold's project area so it's not their problem.

What do you mean the bike network needs functional connections? This curb cut is going to be doing a lot of heavy lifting once the 102a lanes are moved to 103a. #yegbike
Thanks @timcartmell.bsky.social. I'm glad you raised so much money just to fail so spectacularly.

Turns out money can buy happiness. I am overjoyed for your loss.

Please never return.

Drivers who go above the speed limit are breaking the law. Must be punished.

Speed cameras: ideal everywhere. 1000s.
Priority: arterials, 4 & 6 lane roads, where bumps cannot be installed.

Neighborhood/schools? Max speed 30 kph everywhere + road diet + bumps. Cameras? After all arterials.
It kind of feels like every election is a matter of choosing the least worst. I like Knack overall, he's a really nice human, and we could absolutely do a lot worse than him.
It's no wonder so many people want change. Conservatives can't deliver, and leftism hasn't been tried.

Knack is about as close to that as we get this election, but other than being socially progressive, he's right of centre. At least he would be a good representative for the city.
No one wants taxes to be higher than they need to be.

No one wants to feel or be unsafe in their community, on their commute, or in their home.

No one wants crime or homelessness.

Progressive policies are the solution to all of the above, as has been demonstrated elsewhere but never tried here.
We have never had a truly progressive candidate, and every porgressive idea that's been suggested gets watered down to appeal to the moderates and conservatives, ultimately destroying a policy that would otherwise provide the things we all want.
74% of people polled said #yeg is heading in the wrong direction, 41% of Edmontonians' think none of the candidates reflect their values, and 45% think no mayoral candidate is trushworthy:

Maybe we should try running an actually progressive candidate?
Edmonton election: poll finds dissatisfaction with mayor candidates
While Cartmell and Knack are frontrunners to become Edmonton’s next mayor, a CityNews poll finds voters feel no candidate is right for the job.

Ok, since many people are obviously not reading the article, here's a pertinent figure from it showing the top actions to reduce emissions.

All the more reason to build safe, well connected, and reliably available cycling and public transit networks.
For the first time, the avg new car costs >$50,000. www.cnbc.com/2025/10/13/n...

It's making more and more sense for families to use a relatively cheap e-bike or golf cart in lieu of a 2nd or 3rd car. Detroit should be nervous.
Why car companies should fear the golf cart
