I think the first priority always has to be making something that's genuinely worth peoples' time and money. Not just something that's capable of taking peoples' time and money.

I just realized that 95% of games I've played and enjoyed in the last couple of years do not have realistic/photorealistic graphics. It's all just become so generic looking with the uncanny valley getting larger. Models and textures look better, but face/hair animations still pull me out every time.
