I would think Maduro has head of state immunity from prosecution under international law (with exception for grave human rights violations, see, e.g., Pinochet)
Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Mag. Judge Sharbaugh rules that accused pipebomber Cole must be detained. Oddly, he still hasn't ruled on whether to accept Cole's superior court indictment. I don't see how he can detain him unless he accepts that indictment. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

The words “Locked and loaded” coming from the mouth of an unstable, manic man with access to weapons would trigger an immediate 72-hour psychiatric hold if his family brought him to an emergency room worried about the possibility of violence.
The worst possible move.

Another war.

Mind blowing but a must read article. What a clusterfuck this U.S. government is. With “friends” or “allies” like the USA, you sure don’t need enemies. I sure hope the karma bus is on its way for every one of these US “officials”

I think I would have chosen an alternative word to “suggest”. The corruption and vindictiveness of this administration is mind blowing.

Trump spent $40B bailing out Argentina.
USAID *had* a budget of $30-35 Billion prior to the Trump administration eliminating them.

This does not even come close to the level of aid that we were providing to those who were starving and in desperate need around the world.
The U.S. has pledged $2 billion in humanitarian aid to the United Nations as part of a deal that will also overhaul how the U.S. funds foreign aid work going forward. https://to.pbs.org/3YS2q7C

The entire right wing media apparatus is in a rabid frenzy saying every childcare is fraudulent and now people are showing up to random daycare centers demanding to see the children and screaming at daycare workers. This is absolutely insane and I worry this is going to end in a major tragedy.

Horrifically criminal pardons of these two
Pardoned by Trump after convicted of 12 counts of bank fraud and tax evasion. Don’t have to pay back $17.8 million in restitution or serve 12 year sentence. Not Somalis.

Still mind-blowing that a top admin official was revealed to have taken $50,000 in cash in a paper bag from people looking for government favors, the reaction of the administration was "Whatever losers, this is how it works now" and bigshot news media said "If you say so, we'll forget about it"

Justice officials felt sure Homan would not be able to obtain a security clearance based on the evidence gathered. It remains unclear how Homan was eventually granted clearance.

This is functionally equivalent to - & equally illegitimate - as Russia invading Ukraine. As @nicholasgrossman.bsky.social notes: "the US wasn’t attacked by Venezuela, someone based in Venezuela, or anyone else. There’s no self-defense argument, and the US didn’t even try for UNSC authorization."
The US is at war with Venezuela.

No Congressional authorization, no public debate, no clearly stated goal, no casus belli, and a gradual ramp up rather than big opening, so many haven’t noticed (or deny it). But this attack removes the ambiguity.

US is at war with Venezuela. With no end in sight.
