Derrière les similitudes "troublantes" avec le film de Coppola se cache une authentique catastrophe industrielle passée un peu trop inaperçue, heureusement nous sommes là pour vous en rapporter les détails.

Un fan-poster du Nosferatu de Eggers côte à côté avec l'affiche du Dracula de Luc Besson, qui montre une forte similitude entre les deux Extrait de la chronique du film : Le film suinte l’opportunisme par tous les pores. On ne voit jamais autre chose qu’un projet sans la moindre étincelle créative, monté pour renflouer les finances de son réalisateur, misant sur un chef-d’oeuvre de la littérature en guise de titre propre à attirer les foules et les acheteurs étrangers, et sur un autre chef-d’oeuvre, du cinéma cette fois, comme storyboard pratique et pas cher pour que ça puisse se monter rapidement. On voit deux images comparant Gary Oldman dans le film de Coppola et Caleb Ladry Jones dans celui de Besson, mettant en avant leurs similitudes. Légende : Le design de Dracula vieux est (encore) une repompe éhontée de Gary Oldman, mais avec un gros tas de mousse ajouté au milieu. Le look n’est pas repris du roman où il est décrit comme ayant le crâne dégarni, des sourcils broussailleux et une moustache tombante. Extrait de la chronique : De l'autre côté de la caméra, on ne doute pas que Caleb Landry Jones ait travaillé avec diligence pour entrer dans le personnage, mais le résultat est sans appel : avec sa peau fripée et sa tentative d’accent roumain, son Dracula est un sosie physique et vocal de Tommy Wiseau et une fois qu’on l’a repéré, on ne voit plus que ça. Le clou est enfoncé dès les premières minutes du film : un montage de scènes d’amour entre Dracula et sa dulcinée (absente du roman mais qui s’appelle Elisabeta comme dans le film de Coppola – j’arrête sinon je vais m’énerver) à base de lit de roses et de draps en satin rouge, avec le futal qui reste pendant le sexe et une bonne giclée de vaseline sur la caméra… 50 millions d'euros et Luc Besson pose tout de suite une ambiance de téléfilm érotique du dimanche soir de M6. Extrait de la chronique : On était venu pour une copie sans génie du film Coppola, et c’est donc une heureuse surprise en un sens de découvrir que le film va plus loin que ça et arrive réellement à surprendre dans sa connerie. Caleb Landry Jones compose une caricature de Gary Oldman passée par The Room, et le voilà en seigneur des ténèbres version Marque Repère mettant à bas les empires grâce à Bleu de Chanel et la maîtrise du kickboxing. Face à lui, Christoph Waltz semble attendre désespérément que Quentin Tarantino le rappelle tandis que les actrices sont réduites au statut de potiches en pâmoison. On voit en dessous une image de Christoph Walz tirée du film avec le sous-titre : "Je lui ai déjà laissé trois messages"

For its 25th anniversary, "Jin-Roh" movie is getting a 4K remaster (from the original 35mm film negatives).
Coming in March 2026 in Japan (theaters + physical release).
The UHD/Blu-ray is up for preorders and includes english dub+subs.
