Agreed. And as far as the comic pages go...I'm with ya. There is nothing like the feeling of the ink on the brush against the bristol. But I wanted a painted book...but I needed it to be fast because I take waaaay too long to do the pages. So this was the compromise. I do love having the originals

I've been experimenting with a hybrid approach: pencils on paper, trace, scrap whatever, scanned in and adjusted; then bluelines printed large for inking; colors are a selection of traditional washes combined with charcoal and graphite textures scanned in and overlayed. Final looks very traditional.

Exactly....the typical "Bond Villain" and Lex Luthor have become 'real',sadly. Moonraker used to have a ridiculous villain....and now...not so much.

I got away from a lot of feathering when inking modern period, pseudo-techno superhero work.
But am using it more again in Solomon Kane. I feel it works especially well on wood, animal hide, fabric, hair, nature-- these are elements in Solomon Kane and fantasy.

I kid you not, a new fragrance has dropped: "Cartoonist". Descriptors include: pineapple, cool mint, ginger, geranium, warm cedarwood, resinous elemi, and earthy patchouli.

Does not say whether it pairs well with "Eau de Black India Ink" stained fingers.

good grief....where is the scent of old old comic books and ephemera...the smell of linseed oil and dried paint...the smell blood sweat and tears on the bristol...the smell of the pain and suffering...this is clearly something cooked up by someone who has never drawn a stick figure
