There are a small amount of "Time Breakers-The Collection" available for purchase on the @wearezoop.bsky.social store page. This includes editions that are signed or remarqued. This will probably be your last chance ever to get a hardback copy of this story, so don't delay!

I always loved this sleeve design. But somewhat hauntingly, this 35 year old record was a re-release with new mixes. The original “Situation” was the b-side to “Only You,” released an astonishing 43 years ago. The original 12” mix still sounds cutting edge.

John Watkiss was a fascinating artist. A talented and expressive illustrator who (I think) found a more fitting home in film storyboards rather than comic books. But, that said, there is always something to marvel at in his strips.

ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

Joel Edgerton is quietly one of the best to do it. The range on that lad. Watching Bright and Loving back to back will give you a stroke.
Train Dreams is such a beautiful film. And joins the list of the best Terrence Malick films Terrence Malick didn’t direct. Joel Edgerton gives the performance of his career. Restrained and subtle. Will Paxton provides the narration and there’s a sense of deep time few films achieve.

This might explain me remembering a Chris Hemsworth Men in Black film that simply does not exist.
Sometimes bits of other realities that are very close to ours bleed over. In an alternate universe with only one small difference, you have an arthritic dog.

Still one of the things I'm proudest of writing.

Forget your stereotypes about medieval peasants, y'all. The truth is so, so much more interesting.
Hello #medievalsky here's my novella-length look at how peasants facing feudalism organized and fought.

Ambushes, secret societies, communal pacts, innovative weaponry, ingenious battle tactics and a whole heap of dead nobles:

I still read this album title in Joe Brown's voice, as advertised on TV at the time.
#EveryAlbumIOwn Seven And The Ragged Tiger. Duran Duran. 1983.
Top 3 tunes: The Reflex, I Take The Dice, Shadows On Your Side
You can skip: The Seventh Stranger
Rating: 8/10

All the singles are great, but pretty much everything else is as good or better, even the instrumental.

I still maintain "Van Helsing" should have been a musical with songs by Jim Steinman. It would still have flopped but would probably have gone on to become one of the most beloved films ever with stage versions in cities worldwide raking in billions.

Star Trek III destroyed one Enterprise, but gave us a generous helping of new ships (plus a spacedock) to compensate. The Bird of Prey and Excelsior went on to become fan favourites, but one is not so universally loved.
