Multiple Republicans are absurdly claiming they're just fighting back against Democratic gerrymandering.

In 2024, roughly 3 times more seats were in states drawn to favor the GOP than Dems.

The GOP in Congress & on the Supreme Court has repeatedly blocked efforts to ban gerrymandering nationwide
A cartogram showing the partisan intent behind congressional redistricting in every state, with each state’s size corresponding to how many districts it has. The graphic illustrates how Republicans gerrymandered states with 42% of districts in red, which is three times as many as the 14% of districts that Democrats gerrymandered in blue. The remaining 43% of districts are in yellow states where a court, commission, or divided legislature drew a relatively neutral map.

This is the sort of advertising I love. - It's not very well targeted, because it doesn't need to be. - It's not got a link to buy, or "find out more" or use promo code 10 , in order to merely be able to prove it's success - It's not pretentious or ambitious or demanding or "smart" , it's just based in the reality of the world. - It's calm, confident, noticeable, bold. - It's what it needs to be. I do wonder why we make everything so complicated. Simple isn't easy, but it's essential. Onion ad for the National Pear Council: Just curious, when was the last time you had a pear? That long? How come?

In short, they are war crimes. • If the U.S. military operation is not an armed conflict of any kind, these orders to kill helpless civilians clinging to the wreckage of a vessel our military destroyed would subject everyone from SECDEF down to the individual who pulled the trigger to prosecution under U.S. law for murder. Highlighted sentence at the end of the document reads: Again, the bottom line is that, since orders to kill survivors of an attack at sea are “patently illegal,” anyone who issues or follows such orders can and should be prosecuted for war crimes, murder, or both.

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.
A Twitter account called Ivanka News tweets an AI image of a young woman wearing Muslim garb. The woman is holding a sign that says "I came here illegally. Should I be deported?" Ivanka News writes: What is your response to this person ?? In the "About this account" tab, it appears the account is based in Nigeria An account called MAGA scope writes: Who, in your view is the great enemy of the United States? Communism, Islam, Democratic Party, or Satan? The account is based in Nigeria. An account called MAGA Nadine writes: You go to work and find this. What would you do? The attached pic is an AI image that shows a microwave. The microwave has a sign that says "For religious reasons, this microwave is now making halal food only." The account is based in Morocco. An account called America First posts an AI image of Tulsi Gabbard. They wrote: How would you rate your trust in Tulsi Gabbard on a scale of 1-10?
