Help me reach my NYC Gaza 5K fundraising goal and better the mental health of refugee children

I'm fundraising for UNRWA USA by participating in the Gaza 5K walk/run at Prospect Park in NYC on Sunday, October 12th, 2025.

I choose to show my solidarity with the Palestine refugees by committing myself to raising money for you and RWA mental health services. The trauma of the crisis and the stress of living under blockade, unable to leave the Gaza strip, has left thousands of refugees, particularly children, in need of psychosocial support.

The situation may seem hopeless, but by providing counseling through UNRWA, We can support their mental health, help them cope with their traumas, and improve their quality of life even slightly during this assault on their homes and lives.

Though I know I can't change the world for every refugee, with your support, I intend to reach as many children as possible.

If you share my commitment to bettering the mental health of Palestine refugee children, please donate to my Gaza 5K run. Proceeds will go directly to UNRWA mental health services and counselors --refugees themselves-- in the Gaza strip.

As I said in the article, unless we do something to address intentional scarcity and declining conditions, we may very well look back on the Trump/MAGA era as the precursor to something much more dangerous and destructive.

You don't have to do a thing & you can still tell yourself you're a "good" person. The alternative? You wake up & start caring enough to actively change & learn how to cause less harm & do more good in the world. It takes effort. Ignorance allows us to be lazy. People like being lazy.

The last thing people want to hear is that they are giant hypocrites as they go on about being animal lovers who adore their dogs as they chomp on their morning bacon & how they would *never* wear a fur coat but the fur trim on their Canada Goose is okay. Cognitive dissonance provides comfort.

You are doing okay. People have block fever on Bluesky. People here are really no more rational than on any other platform. But that's people for ya. People overwhelmingly are not open to change & new ideas. And when you can easily block & mute instead of engaging in dialog, many do just that.🧵

The population of Venezuela needs international protection against the widespread and systematic attack to which the Venezuelan regime subjects it. This is demonstrated by the report dated May 29, 2018, submitted by the Organisation of American States to the International Criminal Court. This has served as the basis for nine states, including Argentina, to file complaints against the regime before that international body. We deeply appreciate this effort, which is decisive for the outcome of the Venezuelan tragedy.

I am convinced that the international community, in accordance with the responsibility to protect doctrine, is called upon to provide Venezuelans with the necessary support to bring about the regime change that is urgently needed to restore national and international security. Therefore, I have recently sent letters to several of the world’s leading figures to promote before the United Nations Security Council the adoption of effective protection measures for Venezuela by fostering regime change, a step that necessarily entails strengthening international security. Today I want to ask Israel and Argentina to contribute their expertise and influence to advance a sound and urgent decision-making process in the Security Council.

Such measures are imperative in the face of a hemispheric security hotspot like the one currently posed by the regime oppressing Venezuela. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Organisation for Migration have certified that the current refugee crisis of people fleeing Venezuela is the largest in the history of the Americas. Argentina is an example of this crisis, having welcomed hundreds of thousands of our compatriots—a gesture for which Venezuelans will always be grateful. However, we must be aware that without a change of regime in our country, hemispheric and global security will be at risk.

My GI is a cancer specialist working specifically with genetically high-risk patients. She knows what she's talking about.
We can't outrun our genetic risks but we can definitely mitigate them by making smarter diet & lifestyle choices. I'm living proof. Go vegan! Your colon will thank you! 😉

My body is genetically programmed to grow many polyps that will become cancer if left to grow. I was astounded when my 1st colonoscopy found only 2 polyps bc others with my same genetic mutation will have 100's of polyps. My GI told me: "I'm actually not surprised. That's because you're vegan."
