Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities & this year's theme is "Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress". What does that actually look like? A world where disabled people can live full lives. This is what we fight for every day. We hope you'll join us.

Articles like this make my head explode. Even if you take away the bad data and fact checking, it is perpetuating the stigma of needing additional supports by calling it “gaming the system” AND by mentioning that students at those “smart” institutions like Harvard and Amherst shouldn’t need help.
Even by the standards of The Atlantic, this is an extraordinarily weak evidence base for an article.

Data from a tiny handful of schools that isn't measuring the variable at issue and a few thin, secondhand anecdotes.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The federal government has never lived up to its commitment to shoulder 40 percent of the cost. Now, advocates want the feds to pony up, @juliametraux.bsky.social writes.

I just watched the whole video, and not a single reporter stood up for her. Everyone just pivoted to asking questions on other topics.

This is shameful.
When asked if there was anything "incriminating" in Epstein's emails, Trump pointed a finger in a female reporter's face and snapped. 'Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.'

Life is hard and the world is on fire but then your dog wakes you up to pee at 5am and you see the most amazing early morning sky with shooting stars so you text your 19 year old who you know has been awake all night and the two of you experience seeing shooting stars for the first time together.

To quote a friend: It’s just so gross that this small group of truly heinous monsters are so closely involved with this.

And are now all in power.
Lutnick is the current Secretary of Commerce and Epstein sent this email three months before he died.
Epstein mocked Trump for “leaving his nose print on the glass” while watching young women, wrote that Trump knew about illicit activity tied to Mar-a-Lago, and visited “many times,” and noted Trump’s planned visit to his neighbor Howard Lutnick’s house.

Trump tries to build a fake wall of inevitability around everything he does.

Today, voters - literally from sea to shining sea - broke through all that, and this is just the beginning.

I realized this about my own kids (ages 23, 19, 17) when we talk about the atrocities happening and their response is this is all they know. The chaos is their political baseline and they see no way out.
Yeah, this is what I wrestle with -- a college freshman today was only nine when Trump first ran for president. They've grown up with him as a baseline, not an aberration.
It's odd for me to realize that my first-year undergraduates are at an age where they don't really remember that there was a form of US politics prior to Donald Trump. For them, Trump is not an aberration from the normal course of political discourse, but just how US politics is done.
