Delighted to see work has started to link the two existing paths in McGraths Field, Knocknacarra. Simple interventions like this can make a big difference at improving accessibility in our communities. Funded through LIS allocations from myself and my colleague Cllr.Lyons.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Yesterday, @david-smyth-eco.bsky.social showed me around the @irishwoodlandtrust.bsky.social's new 80-acre reserve, including about 30 of Atlantic rainforest, Coill Sheanadh Gharráin near Spiddal, Galway.

No words could do justice to the magic of the place. I was awestruck.

Details and drawings of the project have just been published on the council's website and public input is being sought with a deadline for submissions on Tuesday, July 22th, 2025. The project will be partly made of kerb-protected cycle tracks and partly of bollard protected cycle lanes.
