Effective immediately I am suspending posting new content to this platform. While I can’t really object to ICE’s right to create an account here, I can object to Bluesky legitimizing its presence by explicitly verifying the profile.

To the developers of the web portal I use for print order submissions and billing…

THANK YOU for having the foresight to program automatic rejection of a command to digitally shred credit card info…

Babylon 5, but there are no Shadows, and it's just religious fanatics, grifters, racists/xenophobes, and psychotic billionaires all the way to Z'ha'dum.
You know, I loved Babylon 5 a lot, but I actually didn't expect it to be somewhat directly relevant to a political situation in my country in my lifetime.

When Vance insists, contra the videos, that Good threatened the ICE agent and "had it coming", what he means is that he, like Ross, feels threatened by any woman who has the audacity to use her voice in the public sphere.

This deeply misogynist worldview is core to MAGA.

And this is an accurate statement, not an exaggeration. All of the parts of that tweet are not only technically accurate at every level, it is a meaningfully accurate description. Straightforwardly true. And so many would laugh in your face for saying it
I hate to break it to you, but heavily-armed government militias are roaming unchecked through US cities and shooting human rights observers dead in the streets. That's happening in our country.

ICE is a domestic terrorist organization that has invaded our cities, assaulted immigrants & thrown our neighbors into concentration camps.

ICE executed Renee Nicole Good in broad daylight. Any legislator who doesn’t immediately move to abolish ICE is a traitor who sold out their country to fascism

Republican officials are Nazi officials. Republican leaders are Nazi leaders. Republican propagandists are Nazi propagandists. Republican party members are Nazi party members.

Where the hell are Google and Apple enforcing their app store terms of service on X? Grok doing CSAM should instantly be a removal from the app store. Any other app doing this would be pulled instantly. Journalists should be asking for comment from these companies.

Unless I'm missing something, and I'm pretty sure I'm not, Twitter's AI is cranking out CSAM deepfakes, Elon Musk is making jokes about it, and nobody is doing anything to stop it or hold anyone at Twitter accountable for its creation and distribution.

Is that right?

The thing is:

They CAN do these things. There's literally nothing stopping them from doing it.

Congress would have to protest, and they won't. States will have to sue, and they will have to fight for YEARS to get their due.

The laws say one thing while behavior says another.
1 - the exec branch can't decline to spend $ Congress appropriated

2- the fed govt can't use federal $ to extort states over policy/political disagreements

3-the fed govt can't use federal $ to impose conditions unrelated to the funding program

4-the fed govt can't use federal $ to coerce states
Sean Duffy on blue states: "What I can do is I can pull their money. That's the leverage I do have ... I guarantee you that the federal taxpayer is not going to fund their roads and bridges and their systems when they are putting illegals on the roads."
