We can shut it all down.

Start organizing your communities. We will need to prep with strike funds and mutual aid networks.

Investigating LAPD-press incidents in Los Angeles on Saturday. No doubt LAPD violated court injunction. Just a question of how bad.

So far I think only minor injuries to press. Still confirming. Not a passing grade regardless.

Preliminary leads in blue at top. Please share evidence if you have!

Whatever you think of the White House as a building or a symbol, the fact is that the image of it being torn apart on a whim two days after 7 million people hit the streets against autocracy is going to make a HUGE amount of people really, really angry, and that's an energy that should be harnessed.
No, we’re (50501) explicitly building the protest muscles now so we can shut down and shatter the regime in order to replace it with real, progressive change.

And not with a Schumer-type - we want a president & a Dem leadership that isn’t owned by billionaire elites
I agree. Fighters, not folders. I’m a Dan Osborn and Talarico guy.

But Dems can do wayyyy better than a Stevens or a Cuomo even in the reddest district in the country
We’re not France, we got to build up our protest and shutdown muscles. Voting is necessary but not sufficient, protests are necessary but not sufficient, mutual is necessary but not sufficient. It’s a marathon, not a sprint
100k in one protest in DTLA, hundreds of thousands more at ~30 protests in the rest of LA and around the county

Thank you to everyone at the #NO_KINGS rallies for making your voices heard & being part of history.
The massive crowds were joyful, passionate & spectacular!

So were the signs...

Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.

The crowd did not disperse, an instead started playing Tubthumping by Chumbawamba — I get knocked down, but I get up again.

Stopped at Office Depot. Had to wait in line behind five other middle-aged people buying poster board and markers.

The first politician to get a cheer at the Los Angeles No Kings rally was ZOHRAN MAMDANI
I think the lib politicians might have a problem if the dsa politicians are dominating the stage at these lib protests. the problem being that the lib representatives suddenly do not look particularly lib
