The houses are getting built because less water is going to be abstracted from the river, due to the houses being built to new higher water standards. They have to take measures like recycling rainwater for flushing loos. It was poor housing standards they blocked the development in this case.

The caveats and explanations are gone over on the electoral reform society's website. Also, 45% of the population isn't going to vote for Reform. The UK population just isn't going to vote in that way. There's not any point in repairing anything if the next government can destroy it easily.

Without changing the voting system none of this really matters. We are being hobbled by FPTP. We really need to press for electoral reform to a form of PR. If you live in the UK, badger your MP into backing a national commission on electoral reform in the upcoming Elections Bill. 🙏

I just watched the video of the Portland Cop threatening to arrest an ICE agent if they drive their truck through a crowd. Now I see this where the General of the Oregon National Guard says if they get called up they will protect the protesters. People are fed up.
