Our leaders talk about immigration but never its causes

Causes of migration

1. Never-ending wars sponsored by the West
2. Climate Change caused largely by the West
3. 100s of years of colonial & post colonial capitalist impoverishment of the Global South by the West

Deal with the causes

The Greens don’t believe providing safe refuge for endangered asylum seekers is an “out-of-control” policy.

Nor do we believe making life more difficult for those in need is the way to unify British society.

Refugees are welcome.

A petition has been set up to remove the flags across Worcestershire. Residents across Worcester have been in touch to express their fear and concern about the people putting up flags - filming residents without their consent, promising to "make them famous" c.org/6JPPxBGqZB

Many people in this country want to cut their bills, to go green, but cannot afford to upgrade without this help. Ask the super wealthy to pay more. We don’t need to take away important support for the many.
Heat pumps are hugely expensive, and the wait times to get one installed versus a boiler are lengthy. Without subsidies, the only people willing to get one will be proper environmental die-hards who have a lot of cash on their hands, which isn't a big population. Another Labour disaster.

I have spoiled my ballot at every single PCC election because they are a giant waste of time and money. Returning accountability to councils and mayors is a big improvement. West Mercia has been a dumping ground for failed Tories as well.

Police and crime commissioners to be scrapped in England and Wales
The government says it will save £100m over this Parliament and less than 20% of voters can name their PCC.

Laws bent for the rich.

Wages taxed at marginal rates of 20% – 45% plus national insurance contributions (NIC).

Capital gains taxed at 18% to 32%, no NIC .

Dividends taxed at 8.75% to 39.35%, no NIC.

Return on wealth must not be taxed at lower rates.
Nothing will change until the political system is freed from the clutches of corporations and the super-rich
The law is being used to enforce existing power structures for the benefit of the few

I have written to our MP, @tomcollinsworcs.bsky.social asking for him to support Jenny Riddell-Carpenter MP's ten minute bill that she is proposing tomorrow: "Road Safety (Schools)", which will make it a statutory requirement for councils to improve road safety around schools.

This is from Worcestershire County Council's audit report. Yet they expect us to believe their savings numbers in their One Worcestershire unitary. They have zero credibility. It is time for new thinking and two unitaries to transform Worcestershire.
