Yesterday, we made history when the PA CROWN Act became law!

I was happy to share the day with my goddaughter, Lorel, knowing that her generation won’t face discrimination or be judged for their natural hair style or texture.

🧵🧵🧵with actionable link in 3rd post.

This story took the wind out of me in 2019 and for some reason didn’t get as much air time as many of the other horrific police shootings that occurred in innocent people’s homes.

Rest in power, Ms. Jefferson. Many of us are inspired to act in your memory.
Today in 2019, 28-year-old Atatiana Jefferson was playing video games with her nephew when a neighbor called a non-emergency number to report that her front door was open. A white police officer shot & killed Atatiana through her window while responding. The officer was found guilty of manslaughter.
