On Oct. 31, 1926, Charles Vance Millar died at his office desk in Toronto.
Then things got weird.
His will stipulated that the bulk of his fortune would go to the woman who had the most children in the next 10 years.
This is the story of The Great Stork Derby.

If you give me 1 hour of your time, I'll give you 5 concrete ways you can safely intervene as a bystander if you witness hate or harassment in public spaces.

It's open to anyone, anywhere aged 12+ and cameras/mics muted, so you're never on the spot!

Born in 1986 in Ontario, and I had my titres tested last year. I did get a booster in middle school, but my doctor was happy to submit the test while I was going for bloodwork for something else anyways. My immunity was good by the way.
They apparently went by social insurance number, and there's some anecdotal evidence that may be true because my parents got theirs, then my husband, then me, then my younger sister (hers just last week) and we live in the same city.
Eventually, you may reach a point where you can't get replacement parts, especially for something like the control panel. We were able to replace our heating element ourselves easily and cheaply, but there was no supplier when the control panel went so we had to say adios.
Congratulations!!! Best of luck in your new role.

ME: *writing in my journal with the sole aim of pissing off future historians and archaeologists* I returned to my home - which is built in the usual style - by the normal way, and prepared and ate dinner in the way I often but not always do

Samuel Pepys burying his cheese in the face of disaster. A man for our times
What are the Perils of Being Born in the Fall? @msmacrophage.bsky.social shared the science behind that question at a community event hosted by the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging. The presentation was fantastic and the Q & A was lively. Terrific and fun #SciComm!
