There are so many talented actors out in this world, some famous, some waiting for that break. I don't understand the need to create an "AI" actor when there are so many waiting for that chance. I don't want to see a computer talk, I want to see an actor perform.

They need names - both are in the Montreal Tartan, the bear with a QC tartan bow and Cdn tartan heart; the bunny with a Cdn tartan bow and QC tartan heart. All polite suggestions entertained.
Will be up for sale at the St Andrew's Ball charity silent auction in November

Roger believes there are many more ceramic pieces like these in antique shops or personal collections. We welcome anyone with similar pieces to contact us. Work like this is helping to fill in a huge blank spot in the history of Residential Schools. museum.novascotia.ca/blog/residen...
A glossy, dark brown ceramic cat figurine sits next to a shallow bowl with a vibrant green, red, and brown mottled glaze. Both objects are positioned on a solid white background.

the post office is a public service. it doesn’t need to make money. public transit doesn’t need to make money. the library doesn’t need to make money. some things exist for the public good and we desperately need lawmakers to stop thinking about them in terms of capitalism. these are not businesses.

We need new professional models that don’t assume stable salaries, institutional subsidies, or invisible labor.

If we want history to thrive, we need to rethink how we value and pay for its work. 10/

Just deleted my academia dot edu account. Why should this kind of thing belong to a private company, why should they be able to monetize my information, likeness, etc? How do they get away with using .edu? The academics in the academic market should be making the money, not the spongers.

Reading the obituaries for Robert Redford, and how so many are calling him a decent human being. Which is great, but so sad that it has to be made a point. Wouldn't it be wonderful if more could be called decent human beings?
