It hurts to give up Sproat and Williams. I liked both of them. But the #Mets absolutely needed an ace like Peralta and Tobias Myers is no throw-in. When you have one of the best farm systems in baseball, you can trade from surplus. This is an exciting move.

#MetsSky what do you think of the trade?
Wowwwwww! Hell of a week for the #Mets.

Now that Carlos Beltrán is headed to Cooperstown, it's time for the Mets to retire No. 15:
With Carlos Beltrán in the Hall of Fame, Mets should retire No. 15
Carlos Beltrán ranks in the top 10 in Mets franchise history in just about every offensive stat.

This feels like such a good deal for the Mets. At the worst, Robert is a great defender in CF who steals 25-30 bases and flashes some pop. You have a 5-WAR upside, and they didn't give up a ton.

Mets Acquire Luis Robert Jr. - Metsmerized Online
The 2026 Mets are taking shape. Jeff Passan of ESPN reported late Tuesday night that the Mets acquired OF Luis Robert Jr. from the Chicago White Sox in return for INF Luisangel Acuña and RHP Truman Pa...

The #Mets acquiring Luis Robert Jr. always felt somewhat inevitable.

I took a look back at all of the rumors linking him to the team (plus my thoughts on the trade) in a special edition newsletter. Check it out!

Ok, so if the #Mets sign Bellinger, do I get an honoree spot in their front office?

- I was right about sending McNeil to the As.
- I was right about trading for Robert Jr.

Well... I was right on the player, just not the return. I think Robert Jr. is a very good gamble for the #Mets.

Morning #MetsSky, and happy weekend. I know it's been a whirlwind few hours for us #Mets fans, but if you wanna have some coffee and read something *not* about Kyle Tucker or Bo Bichette, I got you: almostametnewsletter.substack.com/p/robert-sua...

One thing that's clear for the #Mets after the Bichette signing is we didn't hear a peep about it before the news broke, which has been the case with Stearns. (Except for Tucker, which was such a strange outlier). Who knows what happens next. Their off-season is far from over.

Bo at 3B, Baty to 1B, trade Vientos for Robert Jr.? Just spitballing here. #MetsSky

Expecting some trades soon.
A question for the “trust the process” crowd: what now? #MetsSky
January 16, 2026 at 4:58 PM
Depending on the price, Robert Jr. would be a worthy gamble. In fact, I predicted it a few weeks ago!
The best option for the Mets now is Robert. In 2023 Robert was 38/80/20 with a bad team around him. I like to believe he completely gave up after not seeing a decent pitch to hit for months in 2024. Mets can rehab him and get a big time buy low

I swear I didn't plan on doing a more "recent" Almost A Met newsletter just hours after the #Mets lost out on Kyle Tucker but ... that's how it worked out.

Good morning #MetsSky! Today's newsletter is out. I decided to look into how the #Mets deal with Yorvit Torrealba fell apart during the 2007-2008 offseason. I've joked that Torrealba always felt like a quintessential "Almost A Met" to me.
