Burgum: "Today we're sending notifications to the 5 large offshore wind projects that are under construction that their leases will be suspended due to national security concerns ... the Dept of War has come back conclusively that these large offshore wind programs create radar interference"

Good luck today, to all those working this week.

A comprehensive review of all refuges and fish hatcheries sounds like a targeted mission to divest of federal lands. It really makes me nauseous.

I am not sure what to expect based on marching orders from Brian. If anyone knows, please DM me!

The Hunger Games is a dystopian series (books and movies). America is moving directly towards this. I am dumbfounded.

Patriot Games..
“An athletic competition calling “one young man and one young woman from each state and territory.”

This is not satire.

Story on federal employees who have left.

If you left via rif, termination, resignation, fork, retirement…. How are you doing?

What has brought you happiness?
What, if any, regrets?
How connected are you staying?
Under Trump, 317,000 workers are out of the government. Here are 3 of their stories
Mass firings, buyouts and heightened uncertainty led to an exodus of federal workers in 2025. More than 300,000 employees will be out of the government by the end of December.

On a lighter note (pun intended)…

For those who celebrate Christmas:

1) Do you have a tree up? Real, artificial, outdoor or other?

2) light color(s)?

3) Lights outside your residence?

4) Gift-making and/or Shopping done?

(Photos welcome, if you are comfortable)

I didn’t watch. Based on all the comments I am seeing, I am glad.

Find the good in the world.
Support conservation (which directly supports people).
Protest, vote, be influential.

Don’t let others change who you are. We are the solution.

Climate change is real.

It kills people and wildlife. It is expensive too, with dynamic weather events damaging infrastructure.

Conservation is one of the solutions we could embrace to mitigate impacts. “Energy dominance” should include resilience.

The signals are all there, we must act.

I had a discussion with friends about the Cabinet. It’s so bad, it was hard to pick who is the worst. It’s so bad, as much as #SecCookieMonster has failed us, he isn’t even in the (worst) group.

Let’s start with which ones should be impeached for their actions in office?
(My list in 🧵).

I miss decency.

To Rob and Michele, your deaths are a tragedy. I hope the disgusting reaction by the vile human we call President will mean your deaths are not in vain— and some Americans will finally see how horrible he is…and remember when the midterms come.

I really hope one of the networks or streaming platforms does a Rob Reiner marathon during this use-or-lose (holiday) season.

The list would be so good and watching would show support for who he was as a human and fighter for America.

Conservation topic for discussion:
How do you feel about wind energy?

From a conservation standpoint it is complicated. Renewable energy is a good thing, and much preferred to the risks of oil & coal extraction.

But the impact to birds and bats cannot be ignored.

Shared with me. I don’t know this individual but there are valid concerns identified.

Examples:
1) decrease in fuels reduction
2) absent DOI Secretary #SecCookieMonster
3) horrifying pick for Director of BLM

Climate change is real. It endangers people and wildlife. It destroys infrastructure.

Conservation is a solution. Resilient ecosystems protect people, wildlife, and the economy.

The examples are all around us:
Indonesia counts human cost as more climate change warnings sounded
Indonesia says 1,000 dead, some 1 million displaced from rains as report points at the threat posed by climate change.

Reflection—

Some employees continue to love their job, embrace positivity, and work hard everyday.

Some employees love conservation and work hard everyday, but feel they are being mistreated, undervalued and over-burdened due to lack of hiring, mass retirements/departures, and our focus on energy.

#Thankful. —part 3

I am thankful for having plenty of food on this Thanksgiving.

I appreciate my good fortune to spend time with loved ones preparing the meal.

I am grateful for good health, allowing me to savor the pecan pie.

I am looking forward to a long nap I will take after the meal.

#Thankful this Weekend- Part 2:

I am thankful for freedom of speech— and for those who protect that right for me.

I am grateful for VPN, for those who go after our freedoms.

I love sleeping in over the holiday weekend— and a good cup of tea/coffee after I arise.
