I see artists trade their patreon and ko-fi links all the time and it seems sometimes like it's only other artists and a handful of regular followers that pass those round.

It really does help. Previous clients saying on comm ads they had a good experience also helps a lot too.

If you like an artist's original work and characters vs. commissioned work: ko-fi and patreon donations are *the only way* to free up that artist's time to do more of it. Even small tips are really important. If even 20 people donated $5 to me right now, I'd still have $100. It adds up.

I don't think saying "the new pokemon games look embarrassingly ugly" transforms you magically into the kind of guy who cares about triple-A pores and says "doesn't even have as good soup eating graphics as RDR2 smh". I think it's normal to be mad Pokemon looks so cheap and ugly.

frankly insane that 20-ish years ago some devs in japan said "how do we adapt mystery dungeon for pokemon," someone said "why don't we have the player be a pokemon," and as a direct result i now wear a collar and have about 5 online friends that identify as the mythical pokemon mew
