We were just beginning to learn about COVID. We still called it the "coronavirus." It was an election year. I posted this headline with my whole chest. It was probably the only thing that made sense.

How quaint. My grandmother so enjoyed her trip to the then-new Bergen County Children's Zoo (now Bergen County Zoo at Van Saun Park) in 1961 that she saw fit to have a letter published in The Record about it.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

As Eli notes in the follow-up posts, last year Trump fired all the Biden appointees from the board of the US Holocaust Museum and replaced them with a bunch of Trump toadies. It's really gross that the org is throwing a fit like this. It's so obviously political.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

Pretti clearly did not brandish his gun. Which means the government is saying he was killed for legally exercising his right to carry.

It’s as clear-cut a violation of the Second Amendment as I can possibly imagine. And we’re about to see the bulk of the gun rights crowd defend his murder.
