The surprised look on this Douglas Fir tree's face, caught mid munch on a clump of moss, brought me some joy today, so I thought I'd share!
Maybe they got overconfident about their Evergreen Huckleberry neighbors capability in providing good camouflage.

This Douglas fir definitely has some wonderful character. Loved how it appeared to be startled when I caught it mid-munch on a group of mods. I'm terrible with conifer ID so my confidence in the ID of this being a Douglas fir is honestly pretty low, but greater than 50%.

I wonder if anything is in place to protect everything in the Smithsonian. I mean, American history is being rewritten and erased from history books, so the next logical step is to get rid of the actual objects that don't fit MAGA's world view, especially at NMAAHC.

I just switched away from my election season one too, in favor of Christmas. I'll switch it again on New Year's Day (I may have a bit too much free time on my hands, lol!😂 )
