Will THIS finally end Trump adviser Bryan Lanza's frequent appearances on BBC News? Anyone working for a sanctioned Russian company _should_ be shunned (...if not tarred & feathered). FYI: @kattybkay.bsky.social @zurch.bsky.social @rosatkins.bsky.social @caitrionaperry.bsky.social

AI accelerating backlash against Tech in schools: "Sweden banned digital tools for young children & now emphasises physical textbooks, handwriting and reading"; Denmark & Finland too. Mostly due to ChatGPT and the mass cheating it makes possible, but teachers also worry about mass distraction.

Another data point for the saying "if you wait long enough by the riverside, eventually you WILL see the bodies of your enemies floating by" 😜 You go, girl.
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

OK, regardless of source, credit where due: That's a great headline.

Based on a 2020 report commissioned by Sen Bernie Sanders & conducted by the U.S. Gov't Accountability Office (GAO), Walmart & McDonald’s had the most employees receiving SNAP benefits: in 9 states, Walmart employed cca 14000 & McDonald’s about 8,700. Other companies: Amazon, Burger King, Target.
Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Fantastic anti war song + surrealist AI video in Russian: "I'm Happy!" Singer sounds like a hard rock version of Vladimir Vysotsky. Poignant lyrics are a mordant satire of today's Russian reality. Deserves a wider audience. Don't know anything about the author(s). www.youtube.com/watch?v=Htag...

One of those Simon Pegg/Nick Frost zombie movies would totally work in a Mar A Lago setting -- & could hire local talent (the local botoxed beauties already look 1/2 zombified). Trump Of The Dead?
Looking forward to a new season of The Queen being set at Mar-a-Lago!
Sure you are, pet.

Uh, yes, nothing suspicious here, just a typical Russian CEO suicide: decapitation, + a tow rope tied to the body...

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

When someone gives you a compliment, accept it with a smile and move on. Don't start babbling about how you did nothing special, or how the thing complimented was really nothing -- it's a turn-off to all present. Think about their motives later, if suspicious (usually there are 0 ulterior motives).

I need you to understand that if you heard a song you liked in the 80s, you couldn’t Shazam it. You couldn’t Google the lyrics. You had to sing it to the guy at Tower Records.
