I’m a repeat #Corkor customer. As a #vegan, finding a beautiful non-leather everyday belt was BIG. You may want to give them a look, too. My first one lasted 10+ years and then I was able to #reuse the buckle and just buy a new belt.

Just started reading #JoySpan , and finding it a huge resource for thinking about how people with influence (we all have some!) can fuel and expand their impact by better understanding their own JoySpan.

A new book, “It’s on you” challenges just about everything I ever wrote about personal responsibility vs the need for systemic change. I begrudgingly admit that it makes a very strong case. lloydalter.substack.com/p/its-on-you...
It's on you: Did corporations convince us that individual actions matter?
A new book challenges just about everything I have written.

Each year, ~15 million adults die prematurely due to unhealthy diets – more than caused by air pollution.

Animal agriculture is a major contributor to global food insecurity.

It takes ~1,595 ft² of land to produce 1 lb of beef, compared with only ~17 ft² for 1 lb of soy or ~19 ft² for wheat. Producing 3.3–25 kg of animal feed is required for every 1 kg of meat.

Climate win: In Naperville, IL, which gets its power in part from a coal plant that's one of the top 10 climate polluters in the country, city councilmembers just voted to stop negotiations w/ the agency keeping them hooked on coal.

Since that story came out, the councilmembers voted to stop negotatiations w/ the coal-supporting agency entirely. This is the kind of climate story that won't make front page news but CAN make a big difference in actual emissions.

There are wins still happening, even now, if we know where to look
