No disrespect, but Boston is a suburb compared to Chicago and doesn’t have the debt issues we have due to past administrations not raising revenue and borrowing to avoid doing so.

Sorry for the caps, I’m responding in kind. Trust I’ve looked at this all but it seems like “movement” doesn’t seem to care about moving it forward or they would be pushing state folks to change it
November 18, 2025 at 3:54 AM
THAT REQUIRES A STATE LAW CHANGE, NOT CITY.

I’m the ONLY alder calling for a CPD audit. Literally. No one is looking to cut down headcount of existing CPD, but an audit helps identify operating and policy changes that could save money there.

That’s not true. They absolutely care about it. It’s WHY the property taxes keep having to go up to cover costs, and why the city sold off the parking meters just to solve a budget for one year. That’s the root of the deficit problem that we face now.

It’s misguided to completed ignore the TONS OF DEBT and larger deficits we create when we don’t make smart decisions about the debt.
November 18, 2025 at 3:42 AM
I think that’s misguided because this wasn’t about one tax proposal, it was about a budget proposal that creates larger problems than it seeks to solve.

I’ve got plenty of answers and they’re all still valid and true, especially when that’s what some try to hit us with
November 17, 2025 at 9:50 PM
1) not true when you count debt and 2) I’m literally the only Alder calling for a CPD audit
November 17, 2025 at 9:44 PM
2/ and I definitely said that if you had an option for me getting funds to buy a ward plow, it would be cheaper and I’d drive it myself
November 17, 2025 at 9:27 PM
1/Who me? I’m not avoiding anything. I think it is important to figure out how to clear the sidewalks, hell we do it every year for our senior and disabled neighbors. I’ll say that we have black, brown, and undocumented neighbors under attack, certain things take priority,
