Whatever gender a client tells you they are, you refer to them as that. You *do not need* to start *every* case file note by crapping on that "[dead name] shall be referred to as their preferred name from here on in". There's nothing professional about re-deadnaming clients because of bigotry

Today was “bucket list item fulfillment” day. When I got my first library card I was obsessed with two l books things, science fiction and aviation. My go to book was a large picture book about the National Air&Space Museum. It was an obsession really. Today, 45 years later, I finally got to visit!
