Eagles did the tush push four times in a row and basically didn’t do anything else offensively the rest of the game.

Most enjoyable regular season Giants game in like a decade?

Cam Skattebo really has some of the most troubling (complementary) vibes in the history of football. He should absolutely not be allowed to do anything else with his life other than play this game.

Franklin-bashing has been my favorite CFB pastime for many years but it’s pretty undeniable he’d he level Maryland up significantly. Also, he’s probably the only guy they could hire after a potential Locks firing that could reasonably keep the young local stars on the roster.

I sent this to @jakenazar.bsky.social this week and now that Spencer has broken the ice on this take, I’ll put my stance out into the world.

Let me suggest LBJ instead, who actually got significant wins on the board as a the top dog.

I agree but with one specific caveat: Rick Pitino.

Good time to remember that there are no truly great coaches in any sport. Literally none, ever. There are shitty ones and decent ones and pretty good ones, but the good ones only ever look great when they have elite talent, and will look mediocre or even shitty as soon as they don't.

Sorry to be this person, but it needs to be said that Cowherd (who I am loathe to defend) was obviously joking when he tweeted this. I’ve seen so many people repost it and I feel like I’m going crazy every time.

when UNC scored on the first possession of the first game and Colin Cowherd immediately posted this, and then UNC lost by 34
Wasn’t really sure what to expect from Chapel Bill. But after that drive, I have him as second best college coach I’ve ever seen, just below Saban.

But what if there’s another

He’s evil, mormon Josh Allen!

But what if he is though

My stance has always been that this season will tell the story of whether they can do anything interesting with him at the helm. The talent is there and the schedule is as manageable as possible. He has plenty of opportunities to turn it around after yesterday. But that one stat says so much.

After ruminating on it, I think you could justify moving on from Locksley solely due to being 0-10 coming off a bye. It’s so embarrassing.

Just off the top of my head, how does Ole Miss losing to Kentucky last season compare? Directly kept them out of the Playoff.
andrewemmer.bsky.social
This was obviously a terrible loss but I don’t agree that this is some different, definitive loss vs some other terrible losses. If they had won today, they still could have shit the bed next week or at UCLA. And they can still win either of those games after losing this one.

The rest of the season needs to play out, but if things a pretty clearly not as good as they should have been, I think he would be aggressive. The results will tell the story.

They’ll yell at me and on podcasts and that’s fine, the team deserves it. They don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt at all. But I’ll still watch and think one day something good will happen. I’ve been a Knicks and Mets fan my whole life. Sometimes good things happen to rotten teams.
andrewemmer.bsky.social
On one hand: it’s probably just emblematic of a rotten program (the @alexkirshner.com/ @jakenazar.bsky.social take)

On the other: win the next two and they’re back on serve for a good season
andrewemmer.bsky.social
I was at a party for the second half and had to follow on my phone. Obviously not surprised in the least.
andrewemmer.bsky.social
He’s employed Ron Zook, Kevin Sumlin and Brian Ferentz…why not James?
mkroll.bsky.social
Would he offer James a staff position to really twist the knife?
andrewemmer.bsky.social
The truth is that I think Locks would rather retire than coach Penn State.

(I know it was a joke).

Pretty annoying that at this great moment for Maryland football, we have to worry about Penn State poaching Mike Locksley
andrewemmer.bsky.social
That was a big boy drive. Very impressive.
andrewemmer.bsky.social
Malik’s arm talent is really something to watch.
