It was a long time ago now but I’m conscious of it whenever I buy a book. The man was lovely and ran a proper book shop and was always helpful and knowledgeable.

Always saddens me when I see an independent bookshop and remembering the one we had here. The big ones moved into town and it couldn’t compete. The owner closed it down. He couldn’t compete but it was his life, a while later he took his own life.

Tragic news tonight, one of the bikers who frequent the pub I drink in has sadly died after an accident on his bike. Nobody else involved, just an unfortunate accident.

I think apathy is hugely damaging. Not bothering to take interest. I see messages on here about being fed up of politics. Which I get. But people need to have their eyes wide open now more than ever. Reform getting into power with 25 to 30% of the vote is crazy. Considering how extreme they are.

It’s always struck me - particularly in recent years - that some people are always looking for something or someone else to blame for their own inadequacies and shortcomings. It’s the Farage’s and Jenrick’s of this world who are the trigger for this, then the dominoes tumble.

Most voters I know who voted for them are younger people but I’m an OAP so what would I know? ‘I’m old, senile and I don’t know what I’m voting for.’ BTW It wasn’t for reform!
Just because we’re of pensionable age doesn’t mean we don’t know what’s going on. I’ve met more ignorant youngsters.
