They are deeply broken and unhappy people, and no amount of vandalism and ensuing chaos will fill, or distract from, the gaping void at their center. You’re actually doing much better than they are.
We could have put a real business guy in charge. Things could have been different.

The only reactionary political position I hold is that this should not be allowed. There should be a federal agency that regulates minor league baseball mascot names. You can’t just put words together like this. We’re trying to have a society here.

Every year I ask students (as a silly attendance question) which athlete they would most like to have a meal with. Someone chose Brandon Nimmo a few semesters back and I have yet to be able to unsee this. Probably my most obviously teachable moment thus far. Let's talk about how we cook chicken.

I think the most shocking thing about this was how short the timeline is. In my mind Riley Gaines lost her fifth place trophy to Lia Thomas like 15 years ago. It feels like we’ve been subjected to this crap for decades, but the “movement” was basically created out of whole cloth like last week.
PTFO collaborated with @msjpauly.bsky.social and @motherjones.com on an investigation into Riley Gaines.

Riley’s messaging about trans athletes involves “predatory men” and “sexual assault.”

But there’s an important story multiple ex-teammates at Kentucky want you to know: youtu.be/iKUl8lkuGOc?...

Every kit deal should include three designs. Home, away and fat guy.
Hull City's home shirt is the old Kappa Kombat style that looks good on no one. On the Kit Korner, @andyelrick.bsky.social will often say if something is a good fat guy kit - these are decidedly not and aren't even a good skinny guy kit. Incredible really.

The tiger stripes are cool though.

It seems like this went about as well as Mamdani could have hoped for, but he still had to do the thing where you stand behind him while he’s hunched over his desk. I feel like you can photoshop literally anyone into this screenshot and it scans. Kid Rock, Saquon Barkley, Emmanuel Macron.
Trump frickin' loves this guy lmao

BTW, if you produced sports talk radio in the 90's and early 2000's like I did you played your fair share of hotel bingo and got yelled at a lot. I remember Mike "Spanky" LaValliere absolutely goin' off on a guy one night.
Who is the most famous person to ever hang up on or yell at you on the phone? I'll start, Eric Dickerson.

Reading a back issue of the NYT from 1997 for a project and it's so weird to see the movie ads. This absolutely forgotten Costa-Gavras "thriller" with two huge stars that earned John Travolta a "Stinker Award" nomination for instance. He lost to Tom Arnold in McHale's Navy.

I'm sorry for Jason Myers and the Seahawks fans in my life but also I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to bring up one of my favorite answers ever given to a Talk About question.

BREAKING: A detailed analysis of newly released Epstein emails has revealed that the single most accurate predictor of being an associate or friend of the world-historic sex predator is decorating your home with scallop shells that a border collie could comfortably sleep in.
…about why anyone would or could keep a scallop shell the size of a tractor tire on their coffee table. What do you put in there? Can a decor really be that coastal? Why is there a full on tree there too? These are the questions I’m here to answer.

Been meaning to push this one back up to the top of the timeline the last couple days.
punting on 2nd and 3 at the opponent’s 20 is something we will never ever see in football, because if a coach was trying to throw a game there are many more subtle ways of doing so. this is probably the closest thing to that we’re likely to see
Hakeem Jeffries on Mamdani: "'Globalizing the intifada' by way of example is not an acceptable phrasing. He's gonna have to clarify his position on that as he moves forward."
