Not the point of the below post but the versions of this for Iran "before Islam" are the most annoying because the Shah who ruled then was a proud Shia Muslim who is buried in a Mosque in Egypt, a fact forgotten by his most vocal current supporters.
It's so cool how you can clearly track whether or not we're close to bombing Iran based on the frequency of "photo of hot women in [Muslim country] in the 70s before Islam ruined it and made them unfuckable" posts across Reddit and other social media sites.

I would add the people working in the Gaza MOH were exceptional in one important regard: they continued to be calm, compassionate and committed to their work while they were also living in a genocide! They didn't abandon their work or cut corners - even as their own lives were in danger!

I dealt w the Gaza Ministry of Health (often dismissively called Hamas MOH in press) many times & they were literally the same as pub health ppl everywhere on earth: professional, calm, compassionate & methodically accurate. In the US, S Africa, Uganda, Greece, Gaza, pub health folx are the same!
I cannot tell you how much doubt was consistently directed at the Gaza Health Ministry’s casualty numbers and how much pressure was put on news organizations to couch those numbers as unreliable.

The entire reason another war is virtually guaranteed is that the Israelis had to cut the last war off before they really wanted to because the Iranians were *still* getting missiles through (despite the combined AMD of Israel and the US et al) and a lot of people seem to memory hole or handwave it.

Something not really discussed on here (for whatever reason) is that Israel was genuinely hit quite hard by the ballistic missile barrages last year and this is the central reason why the US now demands that Iran, on top of accepting zero enrichment, also curtail its missile stockpile

Sometimes I hate watching TV shows because I get SO invested in the story and characters. Been binging the second half of Humsafar over the last couple of evenings, a few eps left and it’s an extremely painful rollercoaster 😭 Did Farhat Ishtiaq know she had penned the Pakistani Pride and Prejudice?
Back in my Pakistani drama era, rewatched Dastaan end of last year, and now I’m rewatching Humsafar. This is my third or fourth (?) time watching it now. A lot of nostalgia of watching this with my mum and an association w/ my last visit to Pakistan (it was released not even a year after) #desiwatch

The Gulf Arabs (+ Jordan) do not want another US-Israeli war against Iran. Increasingly states like KSA see Israel, not Iran, as the primary threat in the region. Unfortunately for them, they've spent the last 50 years subservient to the US military order, and can't back out now w/o total severance
Given the lack of enthusiasm from the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, and KSA I don't believe any of the assets moved to these areas will be used in an initial attack on Iran, should one occur.
