I saw Claude the first time on a rare San Francisco field trip in middle school... The final time was for a singles night right before covid years later. I'm sorry to see he's gone.
It's with heavy hearts that we share that Claude, our beloved albino alligator, has passed away at the age of 30. Claude brought joy to millions of people at the Academy and across the world during his 17 year tenure. We will miss him dearly. 🤍

Colorist Allen Passalaqua didn't know he was coloring a spread, so when he got the second cover, he decided to render everything in red. He has decided to correct the colors for more natural light - see side-by-side image comparison in the link below (use the slider)
