Absolutely outrageous to say that a uni’s academic press doesn’t serve its undergraduates. Non-profit university presses support and sustain a scholarly and intellectual system THAT MAKES TEACHING UNDERGRADUATES POSSIBLE. No presses? no fields of study, no professors, no college.

One way to know slavery was bad is that for several hundred years it appeared in seemingly almost every story as the worst thing that could happen to the protagonist. Also, when a character would be looking for a metaphor about being in the worst possible state of being, they would reference slavery
