You're a high ranking government official and you shouldn't make things up.

Your 70% number is just a fabrication.

And it's TOTALLY not true that "every single" person you detained is here illegally. For instance, many were allowed in so they could apply for asylum.

This is a deeply unprofessional and illegal partisan statement from the Trump hack who's currently director of the CIA.

It's also deeply dishonest, because the decision to grant the shooter asylum here was made by the Trump administration.

My rule of thumb is if the company is named after something in Lord of the Rings, it’s almost certainly evil.
Since its founding in 2017, Anduril Industries has become one of the hottest companies in a crowded field of defense-tech startup.

Its fast-moving approach comes with its share of setbacks.

A student once told me that when she would doubt if she should try something, her boyfriend would grab her arms and ask: WHAT WOULD PROFESSOR W TELL YOU TO DO?

(I never had him in a class, so she must have said something make him think I would encourage her to jump right in. And he was right!)

Nuzzi is like Trump in this sense: the worst thing about America is not that someone that awful exists, the worst thing is that much of the press promotes and normalizes it for clicks.

This is a flaw in the way capitalists have designed the modern economy, not in us.

"Device hoarding" is GOOD for the environment and for our individual wallets.

"Devices" used to be made to last 10+ years—or lifetimes!

Sewing machines from the 1890s and typewriters from the 1910s still work!
If a phone still works fine, it’s not “device hoarding” to keep using it. It’s common sense.

But I don't get this business model or why some companies are allowed years to go from unprofitable to owing everything.

All of you know Trump is the US president who surrendered in Afghanistan, right? Made a deal in 2020 cutting out the Afghan govt, let thousands of Taliban fighters out of jail in exchange for nothing.

I know the "everything in 2020 was Biden's fault, not Trump's" rule, I just don't agree with it.

In the long history of American oligarchs and corporate heads kowtowing to foreign dictators, there's really never been anything like last week's state dinner honoring MBS.

The sheer number, the sheer amount of corporate power, was unlike anything before.

As L'Affair Nuzzi discourse continues I want to address two objections I've seen from reporters. Roughly

1. Lizza and Nuzzi are destroying public trust in journalism

2. Outside of prestige media (NYT politics beat etc) we're not like this.

And I think these fundamentally misunderstand the public.
