I am so angry at the all-too-believable levels of racism in the justice system, media, and politics right now.

"Care". Where is the outrage, these are children, 2000 of them, missing in the UK.

As many of you know, I do a lot of volunteer work with asylum seekers and refugees. One thing that’s going on is that Labour’s hostility towards migrants and the counterbattery from Tories and Reform is causing horrific fear and anxiety among vulnerable people who deserve our protection.

Important: Read Dan's thread and then fill out the consultation on the link at the end

It's very important for as many of you as possible to take part
I am currently, because I know how to enjoy a Saturday morning, writing some guidance for people on filling this consultation in. As I do several things are highly apparent. Before I go through them though I don't want this to put people off of filling it in. It is important to do so nonetheless. 1/
Government has today published its consultation into "earned settlement", the forward alone contains a hot mess of misrepresentation of the current system by the Home Secretary. I would strongly urge anyone affected by the current system to respond.

This is a level of blood libeling of immigrants (and their citizen children, being lumped in as 'illegals') comparable to the demonization of Tutsis in the time immediately preceding the Rwandan Genocide, or the libels against Jews in the buildup to the Holocaust.

Their intentions are clear.
So, traffic is...an immigrant problem?!

BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV has issued another forceful condemnation of the Trump-Vance ICE raids, calling them “violent” and “extremely disrespectful” to the migrants’ “dignity that is theirs.”

The White House has declined to comment.
BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV Slams Trump-Vance ICE Raids as “Violent” and “Extremely Disrespectful”
In the latest episode of the ongoing Vatican–Washington showdown, Pope Leo XIV decried the mistreatment migrants under the Trump-Vance Administration — and so far the White House has no response.

The Home Secretary says "we have become the destination of choice in Europe, clearly visible to every people smuggler and would-be illegal migrant across the world"

That is a factually untrue claim: the Home Office shows that the UK is fifth, getting 1/10 claims, while Germany gets 1/5 claims

Deporting *children* as a Labour policy. Grim, but perhaps unsurprising next step in a country that seems unbothered by unaccompanied child asylum seekers just disappearing from care www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

So counter-productive. Use dishonesty to aggravate feelings of grievance over asylum, and respond to the problem you create with performative cruelty.

In 2014 Shabana Mahmood was protesting against Sainsbury's stocking goods from occupied Palestinian territories.
In 2025 she is proposing policies welcomed by Tommy Robinson and Rupert Lowe.
Incredible journey (derogatory).
The Sun has been told Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood will on Monday propose confiscating jewellery, watches, necklaces from asylum seekers to meet asylum costs

This reflects the most controversial aspect of the Danish scheme - the Jewellery Law. The toughest Labour MPs thought this was OTT

The Prime Minister said in September that we are at a fork in the road. These asylum proposals suggest we have taken the wrong turning.

The idea that recognised refugees need to be deported is wrong.

Refuge isn’t weakness. It’s an investment. And the returns are human, immeasurable, and generational.

Britain once understood that. It can again.

At what point will the Labour government realise a policy welcomed by people like Tommy Robinson and Rupert Lowe obliterates their own support?
Tommy Robinson is claiming credit for the language/policy being used by the Labour government (about deporting people found to be refugees once their home country is deemed safe)
