Formula is superior in both iron and vitamin D content, by the way. Babies fed only breastmilk sometimes need supplements for them. Formula-fed babies don't.

Assuming this is true, the take-away is not "oh no a leftist mayor," it's that we need a coordinated national effort to govern our cities better without the rich freely putting us in a race to the bottom with their hypermobility.

What an amazingly clear example of the letter of a law being used contrary to its spirit. As if the SNAP Equal Treatment Rule was ever intended to stop people from charging SNAP recipients *more*.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

The simplest explanation for the cruelty, other than that it is the point, is to further serve the interests of corporations, by putting everyone in greater economic danger, so that people are more desperate for jobs, and will settle for lower wages.
