Just to report that I drove around an otter killed on the A171 this morning about a third of the way between Lockwood Beck and Scaling reservoir this morning at about 10:20.
Hit by a previous car not much before that…

Just to report that I drove around an otter killed on the A171 this morning about a third of the way between Lockwood Beck and Scaling reservoir this morning at about 10:20.

Fieldfares in the hawthorns at Sutton Bank, North Yorkshire (UK). These beautiful thrushes are winter visitors to the UK, though numbers vary. It’s impressive how such large, striking birds can almost vanish among a tangle of branches, berries and grey winter sky. Watercolour painting.

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.
