"Gratitude is so much more than a polite 'thank you.' It is the thread that connects us in a deep relationship, simultaneously physical and spiritual, as our bodies are fed and spirits nourished by the sense of belonging, which is the most vital of foods." - Robin Wall Kimmerer, "Serviceberries"

Read this to better understand the significance of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). ⬇️
An incredibly important read from our friend @seemiaroll.bsky.social

"Obtaining an education is one of the best ways to help disabled people secure a stable income—and by weakening the IDEA, the Trump administration is trying to take those opportunities away."
Weakening the IDEA Threatens Millions of Disabled Americans Like Me
Ives-Rublee: Federal law made it possible for disabled students like me to go to school. Those opportunities may vanish for the next generation.

Thankful!
As you’re preparing for your Thanksgiving meal, remember the skilled work it took to get that food to your grocery store.

Tell us your favorite Thanksgiving dish, and we can share some of what we know about the work behind the ingredients.

How is this even possible? Another reason to continue moving away from oil and gas.
The Trump administration is opening millions of acres in the Western Arctic to oil and gas drilling—endangering habitat for polar bears, caribou, and wolverines. While also jeopardizing the climate and undermining Indigenous communities that depend on the land.
What’s at risk for Arctic wildlife as Trump expands oil drilling access in the fragile National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska
Caribou, migrating birds and many other types of wildlife rely on this expanse of wetlands and tundra. Humanity and the climate depend on a healthy Arctic, too.

The wage cap is one of many unrelenting injustices.
Today is Native Women’s Equal Pay Day, which falls within Native American Heritage Month. As we honor the culture and contributions of Indigenous communities, we must also acknowledge the economic inequalities that Native women continue to face.

Whaaat?!? We’re paying attention.
For over 50 years the Clean Water Act has safeguarded clean drinking water, prevented floods, and protected wildlife. Now, the Trump Administration is working to dismantle it.

#GoodNews for a NYC public school student who was "unjustly detained at his immigration court hearing, torn away from his family and community, and detained in a prison with adult male strangers for over a month.” (Rebecca Rubin, a NYLAG attorney and member of his legal team)
When we come together against an agenda of mass deportations...we win!

So cool!
how cool is this - young aspen trees are flourishing in Yellowstone thanks to wolves!! since their reintroduction, elk numbers have dropped and overgrazing has eased, allowing aspens to grow tall again. a living reminder that when predators return, entire ecosystems can heal.

Difference is of the essence of humanity. Difference is an accident of birth and it should therefore never be the source of hatred or conflict. The answer to difference is to respect it. Therein lies a most fundamental principle of peace: respect for diversity.

– John Hume
On this International Day of Tolerance, we celebrate the unique experiences & perspectives that immigrants bring to our communities.

Tolerance is about embracing differences, learning from one another & building a future where everyone has the chance to contribute & belong.
