How did unsubstantiated claims of child care fraud go from a YouTube video to influencing federal policy in a matter of days? The answer lies at the intersection of actual pandemic-era fraud cases, a right-wing media ecosystem, and a longstanding conservative antipathy toward subsidized day care.

These are the consequences of a government that stokes fear, discrimination, and sanctions violence. Our thoughts are with the family of the woman murdered by ICE agents today, and all those who have lost their lives because of this cruel and careless administration.

After a federal officer shot and killed a Minneapolis motorist, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey rejected Homeland Security's claim that the ICE officer acted in self-defense.

"By making huge cuts to health care, undermining protections for care workers, and attacking early education programs, the Trump administration is pushing forward a series of regressive policies that, one by one, fulfill its true agenda."
Four Ways the Trump Administration Took a Page From the Project 2025 Playbook and Made It Harder for Women to Care for Their Families in 2025
Ultimately, these four attacks reveal the Trump administration’s hypocrisy. It claims to be supporting women having and raising children, but these policy decisions have all made it harder for women with families to survive.

Sending political opponents to prison is something authoritarians do. We must not allow a weaponized DOJ to be the norm.

Thank you @replamonica.bsky.social for continuing to fight against this administration’s efforts to scare and silence anyone who dissents.
Today I filed notice of appeal in my case.

From the beginning, I’ve fought back against this administration’s cruelty and attempts to silence dissent—this appeal is the next step in the fight.
