When I was in the ER a few years ago, a male nurse from New York muttered to me, "If you think this is bad, I'm a Mets fan."

I feel I can now kneel beside a mortally wounded man and comfort him by saying, "If you think this is bad, I'm a White Sox fan."

The first Episcopal Bishop of North Carolina! He had the absolutely incredible nickname "Mad Jack" Ravenscroft due to his extravagant lifestyle in his youth.

His successor was the first Anglican bishop in over a century to swim the Tiber, being personally received by the Pope *before* resigning.

When the curse was broken, they held a Shinto memorial service for the statue, and then KFC Japan buried it. They also offered the angry spirit of Colonel Sanders sake and fried chicken (from KFC.)

Yes. But baseball is a pathway to many abilities some would consider to be... unnatural.

I don't know how to harness it for good. I just know that crazy fans throwing a statue of Colonel Sanders into a canal cursed the Hanshin Tigers for almost 40 years.

I often talk about how prayer is my full-time vocation, and it's true. I pray non-stop. I really, earnestly believe in its power.

But I hope people don't misunderstand me. Prayer is my guide. I will *never* stop pursuing justice in this world, even from the small space in the world that I occupy.

Today, I was asked how to pray for us in Chicago. I responded with a detailed list of ways they can engage with the justice issues using time, money, or influence.

White evangelicalism's belief that prayer *by itself* will change the world is messed up and dangerous. We gotta act *and* pray.⚓️

In 2020, a nun from Chicago told me that if I ever became clothed as a member of a religious order, I *had* to wear a White Sox cap with my habit. Always.

Well, the TSSF habit is just a cross. But in next year's TSSF directory, next to my entry will be a rare photo of me. Wearing a White Sox cap.

It has some wild moments, like meeting a foodie spider in a corner of the room, shrinking down to microscopic size, grabbing a germ, and growing back to the spider's size so you can feed it a spider-sized germ (and get a nice reward for doing so.)

Mini & Max is the best game in the UFO 50 collection. On its own it would be worth the $25 price of the game.

I don't normally go crazy for Metroidvania platformers, but it's a gem. Has a very clever mechanic where you can shrink down to varying sizes to explore the huge and very charming setting.

Every year, my fellowship group in the TSSF leads a Transitus service on the eve of St. Francis's feast day, and it is always *so* powerful and moving.

Also, unless you're allergic to almonds, go get yo'self some almond cookies. They were Francis's favs, and he requested them from his deathbed. ⚓️
