Genuinely bewilders me that the work of Michael Moorcock is as absent as it is from the conversations around the fantasy genre today.

The first author I read to show me what else fantasy could be. So of course I'm biased and yes I'm old.

I don't know about QUESTIONS, per se, but this is my favorite interview of me (and not just because "Interviewed by a puppet"), because they really did the research about me first and made it a very enjoyable experience!

If all else fails and Marshall needs to run a taco stand, we will help keep it in business!

If all else fails and I need to run a taco stand, I am ready.
Two sweet potato tacos (queso panela, spiced sweet potato, rajas, salsa de amarillo, spiced pumpkin seed and red cabbage, all on homemade blue corn tortillas) and street corn.

How exciting! ArmadilloCon sounds like a blast! 🌟 Oag's adventures sound hilarious! "Magic, mayhem, and mischief" seems like a perfect combo! Enjoy! ✨📚 #FantasyFun #SFF

I will be at #Armadillocon this weekend!

Oag just wants a magic tutor. It's not his fault that mages keep trying to murder him, and adventurers keep trying to date him. #booksky #magic #fantasy #sff

With WorldCon a few weeks in the past and ArmadilloCon this weekend and various Other Things In The Discourse, feels like a good time to bring back my advice on being a pleasant person to have on a panel!
Giving Good Panel
With in-person conventions back (if often in modified form), I’ve had the opportunity in recent months to think about what makes a panel fun and interesting both to be on as a panelist and as…

Shout out to everybody who came to the 9pm late night flash fiction Thunderdome at Armadillocon to watch us bleed our hearts out on the page for laughs…except for the guy who put all the prompts into ChatGPT and then proceeded to compare us to AI 💀

And ArmadilloCon 2025 is wrapped. A very excellent weekend, folks were quite happy with panels and programming, our live show of @worldbuildcast.bsky.social was fantastic, and late night karaoke was an absolute hit. It was wonderful to catch up with so many great folks in this community.

Had a really good time at ArmadilloCon, seeing old friends, meeting people in person, making new friends. Got a little inspiration from the panels I attended ... different ways of doing things, new angles to try with my writing.

And we sold out of THE SMALL HOURS...which is a pretty cool feeling.

ArmadilloCon was a lot of fun, but I kept running out of steam and feeling wobbly. There were "two stick" and "one stick" times when I needed both or just one. We (writing group) had a table in the Dealer's Room, and I had provided brownies to lure in browsers. Came home with just a few.

Vincent Villafranca held a sculpting workshop at Armadillocon. Went with Teddy Harvia and he sculpted too. Here is mine with Teddy’s and Vincent’s pieces.
Octopus, wingnut and abstract piece of wax clay on a table in front of wax paper. Small wax clay figure of an octopus in a hand.

Biggest graphite drawing I’ve ever done unveiling today at 3pm at @armadillocon.bsky.social in Ballroom D. Yes, it’s from #TheInvisibleParade. Yes, it’s THAT drawing. 👀 #armadillocon2025 #armadillocon

If you heard me say I wasn't buying any new books @armadillocon.bsky.social before I finished some of the ones I already owned, 1) No, you didn't, and 2) How DARE you say something so hurtful.

RIP my bank account AND my #TBR is all I'm saying.
