The point of placing Minnesota alongside Gaza is not to collapse contexts or draw equivalences. It is to trace a dangerously traveling logic and to name a rupture the world is now witnessing: the intensifying unraveling of humanitarian ethics, as health care is increasingly treated as legitimate terrain for state (and non-state) power—whether bombs, apartheid, occupation, or militarized policing—and patients learn that even the hospital and the clinic aren’t safe. Stripped of whatever protective power it once had, medicine becomes another vehicle of complicity in the apparatus of violence.

I like to imagine that few commentators would publicly articulate a "slavery was good" argument--yet when it comes to the violent dispossession of Indigenous homelands, there seem to be many willing to speak up in defense of settler colonialism.

This is the Yale professor's explanation for why he described the physical attractiveness of a student in an email to Epstein. He explicitly says he regrets nothing about their association.

For virtually everyone who sees any of this, the reaction will be "where there's smoke there's fire, maybe raging fire" (whatever the facts, which few will even think of investigating). In general, it's best I think not to react unless directly questioned, particularly in the current mood -- which, I presume, will fade away, even if not in time to prevent much torture and distress.
