It's kind of bonkers that all the synonyms for "contraption" or "item" are so comical. Lemme just go substitute "thingamabob" or "doohickey" into my piece for a global brand's website. I'm sure they won't mind 😆 #amwriting

Every single time I go back to yoga after a hiatus, I'm like "Wow. This yoga stuff really works! Have you guys all tried this thing called yoga?" It's impact and beneficial effects surprise me every time--and I don't know why I don't learn...

I've been hearing polkadots are back in...and it's making me miss this fantastic ESPRIT black blouse with white polkadots that I used to wear with blue jeans and doc martens whose laces I replaced with black ribbons that tied into large bows.
Missing the 90s something fierce. #GenerationX #GenX

Some days... I just want to move to the country and wear flowered dresses and pretend I live in the April Cornell catalog.

You know how eccentric old ladies have a theme? Like they'll love bunny motifs and incorporate them into home decor and fashion choices, or collect little porcelain bunny statues and the like? I'm a planner, so I'm calling lemons. Happy, bright, sunny lemons. 🍋

Sometimes I think about the whole John Travolta / Idina Menzel / "Adele Dazeem" kerfuffle... and laugh and laugh.

‘Rhythm’ has two h’s and no vowels.

Just remember:

Rhythm is also a dancer and a soul’s companion.

It is a *very* difficult word. I don't trust myself with it AT ALL.
'Nonplussed' means "perplexed," but since the mid-20th century, 'nonplussed' has increasingly been used to mean “unimpressed” or “unsurprised,” and this use, though often considered an error, has made the confident deployment of this word a fraught issue for many.

I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks lately & they're making me think hard abt the Major Dramatic Question (MDQ) of a story.

Guys, I've been watching Meghan's show... and now I'm feeling like I need to start making more crudité platters? Of veggies? And fruit? Like, on a daily basis? 😀

A few books I could basically write down from memory bec I've read them so often:

Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld
The Starboard Sea by Amber Dermont
The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller
Flatwater Tuesday by Ron Irwin
A Separate Peace by John Knowles
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

❤️
It's time for another question!

One time, a developmental editor told me I use "but" too often in my writing, so now I deliberately try to limit that.

BUT that is very, very hard to do. 😆😮‍💨

There's a character named "Noah" in my WIP. Sometimes when I'm typing fast, his name gets recorded as "Nah."

So if you hear uncontrollable laughter in the air, it's just me losing it over my own typos. ;)

I wish I could pull off casually calling people 'darling' the way the Brits do. Or exclaim that things are 'grand' the way the Irish do. Might just try....
