If the officer has to COME TO YOU to threaten you, then THEY ARE NOT BEING HINDERED from doing their job. You are not interfering, impeding or assaulting them if they come to you AWAY FROM THEIR vehicle.
They don't like being followed and they get pissed because they have "anger management" issues.
