Working on customizable icons for players to use during duels and I've got this guy as an option. I look for old images that have a whimsical element and I tend to find lots of good stuff

Added a nice little card flip effect whenever you draw cards! This is in 2D so it's actually a "fake" card flip, but it looks real and will even more so when you consider lighting + shaders. Entirely done in code through Godot's Tweens, which makes every part of the animation customizable

Sneak peak of a CPU Personality in MANCY. Every enemy type has their own personality that determines their style when dueling and, for some of them, when building their own decks. They have favorite cards, traits, most hated cards, and many other surprises in store

Placeholder art working as a source of inspiration on this one 😂

One of my more out there designs for a card element, but I'm very fond of it. I do a lot of mixing real world textures with digital elements, so I'm often on the lookout for interesting looks like this. This texture is from a series of 19th century French wallpapers that I found beautiful

Brain is feeling fried but progress on MANCY continues at high speeds! I'm on track for the first play test before the end of this year AND that play test is featuring more content than I originally planned 😁

Attention Indie Devs!

I just need 15 seconds ... of your game footage! A lot of people jumped on the 15s video trend, so I thought it would be cool to make a compilation to help indies get some visibility.

The anti-spam key is "kook".

Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Got to attend @oakcityindie.bsky.social yesterday and it was wonderful! It was my first time being at a game con of any sort, and it was a joy to meet so many passionate and talented people working in the same medium as me. I can't wait to join in with a booth of my own next year!

@scryfall.com Hey Scryfall quick question! I heard on the TapTapConcede recently that all the cards before a certain date are high res scans. I noticed you don't have a French scan of Tooth & Nail, how can I scan it to submit to the site?

Things that cost nothing - but is a HUGE help for any and all indie devs:

Wishlisting - it gives games data to show publishers there is interest.

Leave a Review - ESPECIALLY if you liked the game. Reviews on steam lead to the algo serving you up to others.

Reposting - it's an attention economy.

Working on expanding the complexity of opponent's behavior in my game, Mancy, today and it's somewhat difficult but rewarding! In some ways it's easier than creating player options (because it's more predictable) but in other ways much harder because I'm trying to replicate a player's decisions

Been thinking a lot about packs for my upcoming card game and there's so many cool ways to do them! They're becoming a bigger part of the concept than I originally envisioned and I think the game will be stronger for it 😁

without critique, magic is explicitly entrenching itself as a collectible over anything else. commander is collectible: the card game. UB is a collectible with bonus rules text (see: pokémon). sales prices reflect goals (see: pokémon). understand the game's future and decide what you want from it.

A question for other Godot devs. How do you handle signals that skip the inheritance hierarchy? I have a scene that handles player data, including HP and MP which have their own Nodes in that scene. Those two also show up on the UI, so I have the UI connected to signals emitted by the HP and MP....
